Wales Goes Halal; whilst Our farmers are forced out of business

A report carried out by a national newspaper has proved what we all suspected, and that is the fact that we are being coerced into consuming Halal killed meat and poultry without our consent. The regulations regarding the slaughter of animals for human consumption are based on the premise that it must be conducted as humanely as possible. That is fair and as reasonable as possible if you are a meat eater. However in order to accommodate the burgeoning number of Muslims in this fundamentally Christian country of ours it appears that the majority of premises offering cooked meals have opted to obtain their meat from Halal sources and not advise their clients of what they are eating. One can only begin to imagine the reaction if the opposite were to happen, and Muslim believers were unwittingly made to eat non Halal meat, which is strictly forbidden.
A major consequence of this is that our food agencies have no control whatsoever over where this meat is sourced.
Well, we can reveal that much of it comes from countries like Turkey and Brazil, where hygiene issues have already been a major concern.
But, that is not the point here. The point is that we are not being allowed to support our own farming industry because of the religious sensibilities of a minority, apparently because these food outlets are afraid of legislation which exists against discrimination.
We are currently carrying out a campaign to establish the true reasons foe the decline in real farming in Wales. We ask anyone who has any useful information to submit it via our email button below.
